Mount Harvey is an incredible hike. It is a challenge, as the path is very steep, gaining over 1400m in elevation in just 6.5 km. But hikers will be rewarded by spectacular views in all directions. You get Howe Sound and the Gulf Islands to the west. Then to the east you can see the whole of the Britannia Range of Coastal Mountains. The Spirit Caves trail is a gorgeous workout hike in Yale, so just North of Hope in BC. This is a short, sweet hike that will get your heart pumping (I feel like that is the case for all the hikes near Hope!) Mamquam Falls is a pretty waterfall in Squamish at the end of an impressive gorge. It has beautiful glacial-fed waters, so looks amazing, even on moody, grey days. Do you like going to see the salmon run!? There is a fantastic place to see them in Squamish, so not too far from Vancouver. We visited last September and saw sooo many salmon! We saw some in the Mamquam River fighting their way upstream as well as others spawning and splashing about in the spawning channels.
